japan day, tokyo go-go.

hai!:)
today was actually the best day i've had in a realllyyyyy long time.
well me and chris decided to have a shopping/japanese themed day haha, so we went to glasgow.
first i was in the train and this guy was up the top of it and kept staring at me. i wore my favourite yellow cardi today, and it stuck to my black t-shirt which really annoyed me, and everyone must've thought i was a weirdo that didnt wash her clothes! anyways, while me & chris were in urban outfitters we were looking at all these "coffee table books" like mario testino - let me in, nylon street fashion, and my favourite "what i wore today" which was basically all these normal (by normal i mean not extremely rich, but fashionable people who made their outfits from vintage/high street stores) people who had taken a photo of what they wore that day - which was pretty interesting.

after that, we went around the other shops and went for some ice cream.
thennnnnnn later later on, we went to the cinema to see a japanese compilation of films by french directors (try saying that in on breath) called "Tokyo"
i absolutely loved it! and the cinema was packed, (gladly we didnt have to sit on the stairs like some people did!)
there were 3 films running at about half an hour i would say..

the first film was called "interior design" and was directed by micheal gondry (eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and the science of sleep). it was about this couple called Hiroku and Akira who come to stay in the city with hardly any money, and stay with their friend Akemi because they have no where to stay, and try and make a living in Tokyo. Akira is an "artist" (a film producer) and Hiroku is made out to have no ambition in life as she stays in the house all day, and she gets lonely and upset. So one day she starts crying and she wakes up to find a giant hole in her torso (its weird) straight through it, a couple of hours later her legs turn to wood, and her clothes come off and she turns to wood, then turns to a wooden chair, and she keeps turning from a wooden chair into a naked woman. so basically she's running about tokyo naked. then this guy picks the chair up, and takes the chair to his home. then in the end she says "now i have a purpose in life i am happier now than i ever was". its hard to understand but was really good :D

the second film was by a french director and was called "Merde" haha. this was the strangest one - it was about this really strange creature that lives in the sewers of Tokyo and came out on a rampage on the public. the creature steals bombs from an underground layer and blows up an area of the city, killing lots of people. he is then sentinced to death by hanging, but they cant communicate with him, theres only one person in the world that can talk to him and its this lawyer from france. so they bring him over to Tokyo and he talks to him (its sooo funny the way that they communicate). in the end i think the creature gets killed? but all you see is an empty noose on the hanging rope. and also Sophie from Kill Bill 1 is in it (if you've ever seen that). "Merde" was quite good (i never thought i would say shit was good in my life!)

okay lastly, "shaking tokyo", was about a guy called Teruyuki who is a hikikomori (japanese word for someone who never leaves the house, and basically has OCD and social phobias, and cant look anyone straight in the eye) and he meets this girl one day delivering pizzas to his house and for the first time in 11 years he looks in her face and falls in love (shes realllyyyyy pretty) then there is an eathquake and she collapses and Teruyuki doesn't know what to do, so he just sits there for ages wondering how to save her.. then she has tattoos that say "headache" then a round button, "love" then a button, and on her leg theres one that says "coma" then a button. so her presses the button tattoo and she wakes up and says "so you pressed the button then?" and she gets up and goes away. later on he tries to find her and finds that she too has taken up a life of hikikomori, and he tries to get her out of it. she says no and he says "you have to there is only time now to do it!" and he garbs her arm but accidentally presses the "love" button, and they fall madly in love. THE END,

wow, i loved it.
after that we went for noodles, photobooths and train home.
great dayyy
